Server Finally Back Up -- News/Info Here (August 19)

Ok, as previously mentioned in our news area here on the forum, and on our mainpage...we just went through a really bad server transfer.

To sum it up:
Dour (who was in charge of the server) was trying to transfer the server to me due to her leaving (first baby on the way) and after over a month of fax/email/phone yelling at them and trying to get them to do it, they finally did it. By then I was so fed up with them I told them to shove the server up their ass and not charge me smile

They agreed to cancel it and not charge me...Pescado agreed to help us move to a new server host.

For the last two weeks or so, Pescado has been working on the new server. Getting our prior server backup onto the new server has been a pain in the ass because I underestimated the disk space we'd need to put the backup on there. In addition to that, Plesk was being a pain too.

All sites except wickedsims and its subdomains should be back up now. Keep in mind, our server backup was from beginning of July so some sites that did updates after that will have to redo their updates.

Now that we're back online:
---Our monthly server fee will be much less than before, and the meter has been updated -- $52 plus paypal fees
---I will be going through and working on passwords and stuff so that the site owners can get back to working on their sites
---If you find something broken anywhere on the server, please report it in this thread!! It may not be something the site owner can fix so please post here instead of notifying them directly.
---Site owners may need to have their email addresses recreated so if you try to email them at a site address (such as jessica@wickedsims.com) and it gets bounced back to you, please contact them through the forum until that can be fixed.

Site Owners:
---I will be contacting you through the forum here to tell you your login info once I set up the passwords
---If you notice your site email addresses arent there or working, please let me know.
---If something isn't working related to your site please let me know
---You will have to redo any work to your site that you did after the beginning of July, I'm sorry for that.
---If your site is still not up (and is not a wickedsims subdomain), please let me know.
---If you have questions about the move or anything, please send me a PM here on the forum.
---If your contribution to last month's Party AR is now missing from the thread, please repost it here
---Once you get your login info, please make sure you update your donation codes on your website! smile

In closing:
Thank you for being supportive and patient during our move. Believe me, none of us wanted or expected it to take this long or be so frustrating.
Thank you to pescado for all the work he has done voluntarily for us, and keeping our server alive.
The aspiration reward set we were working on prior to the move will be posted in the next day or two.

And yes we know the files at the graveyard arent working...please calm down! lol
the files are there still, but the subdomain where they are located doesnt exist in plesk at the moment, i've notified pescado.

edit: uploading to the forum is currently not working either, please be patient.
